Staff and Financial Regulations and Rules
Pursuant to Regulation 3.12 of the Financial Regulations and Rules of the United Nations, voluntary contributions, whether or not in cash, may be accepted by the Secretary-General provided that the purposes for which the contributions are made are consistent with the policies, aims and activities of the Organization and provided further that the acceptance of voluntary contributions that directly or indirectly involve additional financial liability for the Organization shall require the consent of the appropriate authority.
