Property Management Framework

Quick facts

The management of property of the United Nations is guided by the regulatory framework which, through the issuance of SGBs, AIs and ICs, establishes the policies and procedures for the control, safekeeping, recording, utilization, maintenance and disposal of property of the United Nations.  Property represents a significant investment by the Member States of the United Nations and is required to support global operations and deliver the mandate of the United Nations.

Through the Delegation of Authority Instrument, the Secretary-General delegates the authority and accountability for the management of property and implementation of the regulatory framework to heads of entity.
